Birth circle

Throughout history, women gathered to share their birth stories, breastfeeding journeys, and wisdom gained from their years of mothering. There was value in learning from one another, sharing in the struggles and celebrating the gift of becoming a mother. This formative tradition has been forgotten over time.

Birth Circle is made up of kindred hearts who see the beauty in conception, birth and becoming a mother.

Your hosts - Lucie, Lindsay and Goldie are passionate about cultivating a space for women to gather, share their experiences, and learn from each other — in hopes of forging a beautiful way forward for generations to come.

What:

For December Birth Circle, we will meet at Goldie Lynn’s Imagery Studio downtown St. Joseph. Goldie is a newborn and birth photographer and she will co-host this month’s birth circle! Future Birth Circles will consists of various topics — prenatal and postnatal care, natural birth, doulas, breastfeeding, etc. As well as bringing in local birth professionals to share their knowledge, experience, and how they serve women in our community!

Lucie Keithley

I am a wife to my soulmate Garin. I am a mom to our three girls that we are homeschooling.
I am also a daughter of Christ, doula, birth educator, birth and breastfeeding advocate and birth and motherhood photographer. I enjoy music, listening to long life stories, traveling, watching babies sleep and artsy things like embroidery, crocheting, art, antiques and especially photography. Our family really loves nature and try to be outside with kids as much as possible, preferably exploring Europe. I believe in attachment parenting, nurturing our children’s individual spirits and holistic living.
You can follow me on my personal Instagram or Tiny Hearts.

I’m a mama to two beautiful boys and wife to my amazing husband. I’m a sentimental “old soul” and love making personal connections with the families I work with.
And I also really, really, really, love babies.
The only thing I love more than babies is helping make new and experienced parents feel connected and included in the process of documenting their children without overwhelm, uncertainty, or decision fatigue. If I can give you back time with your family, create beautiful art, and make it enjoyable then that’s the biggest win I could ask for.
My family is what’s most important to me but I’m also an entrepreneur and I love my business and my work. I know what it’s like to feel like time with my kids is limited and maximizing the time I have is absolutely vital.
It takes a village after all - just think of me as the old lady who will never let you forget about the “good ole days”

Lindsay Novak

I’ve been married twelve years to my best friend – Cole. Together we’re raising our five beautiful boys and practicing the way of Jesus in Saint Joseph, MO. I have been pregnant, nursing or both for the last ten years. I’m a birth doula who’s passionate about unmedicated birth, nontoxic living, sourdough baking, and a raw milk consuming lifestyle. Most of my days are spent as a homemaker and home educator, living an intentionally slow paced, simplistic life. You can find me perpetually rearranging furniture, thrifting, sewing or doing something creative. I also write and record music with my husband under the artist Good Company. Let’s be friends and meet over a cup of coffee! You can find me on Instagram
