Hi, I am Lucie!
I am a wife to my soulmate, a homeschooling mother to three girls, doula, educator, birth advocate and a photographer. I enjoy music, listening to long life stories, traveling, watching babies sleep and artsy things like embroidery, crocheting, art and photography. Our family really loves nature and try to be outside with kids as much as possible. I believe in attachment parenting, nurturing our children’s individual spirits and holistic living.
I am glad you are here!
My journey to birth work started when I was little. I was born and raised in the Czech Republic and I have always been loving and helping with babies and birth fascinated me. My grandmother was the best story teller and she used to also work as a midwife for a little bit before she was pediatric nurse. I was always listening to her stories, births and postpartum visits. My path lead me to study to be a teacher and then I decided to take a big leap of faith and left to the USA to be an au pair. Later nanny but always with tiny newborns. And I found love, my wonderful husband and stayed. Not only I found my soulmate but I also found out what doula is! and I fell in love again. I knew this is where my heart is.
I started attending births, got certified as a doula with Childbirth International and also got trained with Sutter Davis Birthing Center where I volunteered as a doula for two years.
When our daughters were born it shaped even more the way I research, learn and truly deeply understand the motherhood life. I can’t wait for you to experience the blessings of being a mom!
On call life wasn’t always possible for our family but I always kept on learning and studying and got certified as a childbirth educator.
Photography was always part of my story as well. My goal when I left to the US was to save money for a new camera. I did! My dad was my biggest teacher and thanks to him I captured so much. My adventures but later families and friends started asking me to document their life stories as well. I never take it for granted when I get asked to photograph your life stories.
I love building deep connections with families, helping you grow in confidence, understanding of your rights and evidence based information. Motherhood comes with so many new things and not just skills and experiences and information but also lots of new emotions. They are raw, honest and beautiful. Photographs help us preserve these details and feelings and create heirlooms that you will treasure and keep for next generations.
